In Kazakh, Angime [Ahn-Ghee-MAE] means ‘conversation’. In the spirit of this word, Angime promotes international, multilingual and multidisciplinary literary and artistic conversations. Edited by the diverse faculty of Nazarbayev University, Angime takes advantage of its distinctive intellectual and creative context in Kazakhstan.
Published digitally and in print, Angime accepts submissions in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, translations, photography, visual arts, hybrid and experimental works, as well as interviews, reviews and essays. We welcome submissions in English, Kazakh and Russian as well as translations from other languages into any of the three. While we are particularly interested in fostering work from Central Asia and the former Soviet Union, we also encourage submissions from established and emerging artists from around the globe.
