How is metacommentary useful? The greek prefix meta means beyond or after. Therefore, metacommentary moves the text commentary forward. It uses direct statements about the text which tell the reader or listener how to interpret what the writer or speaker said. Also, this technique can correct common misunderstandings by creating subtitles. Finally, metacommentary enables multilingual professionals and global leaders to improve communication across borders.
